As we come together this Christmas Season, let us remember the GREAT JOY it brings!
In the beginning, God poured out His love upon the earth. He spoke LIFE into existence through LOGOS. His WORD came forth and created man in the IMAGO DEI, the perfect image of God. YAHWEH, who is the LORD, breathed the Breath of LIFE into his nostrils, which is the Spirit of God. Both man and the LORD communed with one another in the garden of God, and the LORD proclaimed it was very good.
God gave man everything needed to be fruitful and to subdue the earth. He blessed man with woman, and the two were made as one flesh. Man and woman were free to eat from every tree, except for the tree at the center of the garden, and by faith and obedience in His commands, they enjoyed the privilege of walking and talking with God in the garden. Sadly, the sin of man soon entered the world.
Through this one man, because woman was taken out of man, sin entered the world. Man was tempted by Satan. Man and woman betrayed God. Death was now their reality and they now shared the same fate as Satan. Satan believed he had won the war against man, but a great sign appeared in heaven: “A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth.”
Through the woman came Yeshua Hamashiach, who is Jesus the Messiah. Satan despised the offspring of the woman, for it was written: “The government will be on his shoulders (Satan thought he controlled the government). His name will be called Wonderful Counselor (Satan wanted full and complete control over the heart of man), Mighty God (Satan had established himself as the god of man), Everlasting Father (Satan did not want to lose his authority as the Father of Lies), Prince of Peace (Satan wanted to kill, steal and destroy all peace from the earth).” Through the offspring of the woman, all wars waged against man had been crushed beneath the feet of the coming Messiah, Jesus.
All things spiritual exist outside of time and space; a thousand years on earth is as a single day in heaven. When Lucifer was created, he was also in the garden of God. He was anointed as a beautiful guardian cherub who was full of wisdom and splendor. Lucifer became proud in his heart. He considered himself to be a god. Lucifer corrupted his own wisdom for the sake of his splendor. A great rebellion stirred in his heart and war broke out in heaven.
Michael and his angels fought against Lucifer, who is the devil. The devil and his angels were not strong enough; he lost his place in heaven, being hurled to the earth along with his angels, God proclaimed eternal condemnation and death upon their immortal souls. Then the devil, or Satan, was filled with fury, because he knew his time on the earth was short. Full of rage at his inevitable demise, Satan set out to wage war on the chosen of God.
Through Adam, the son of God, came Seth. Through Seth, came Noah. Through Noah, came Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Through Jacob, came Judah. Through Judah, came David. Through King David, came Solomon. Through Solomon, came Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah, the Son of God.
Around 2000 years after Adam, God provided the sacrificial lamb for Abraham through his faith, saving the life of Isaac and preserving the lineage of Jesus, which would be the fulfillment of His covenant with Abraham.
Approximately 2000 years following Abraham, God provided the final and perfect sacrificial Lamb that brought salvation to all who place their faith in Him; the spotless Lamb of God, Jesus, who takes away the sin of the world.
Through the one man, Jesus, came salvation, eternal life and the hope of resurrection. We are reminded that no matter the plans the enemy has waged against us, God will always provide salvation for those who, by faith, love Him and keep His commands.
It is written:
“Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people. For there is born to you today, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
“Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. They overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. They did not love their life, even to death. Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”
Could it be that now, 2000 years after Jesus ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of His Father, we might once again see the coming of the LORD in the clouds? Now, that is something to rejoice about this Christmas Season! Hallelujah!
