—This morning I woke to, "Run to the hills! You are the hill people." And this became my prayer.
"Now it will come to pass in the last days the mountain of the house of the Lord will be firmly established as the highest of mountains, and will be exalted above the hills; and all the nations will stream to it. And many peoples shall come and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, the house (temple) of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths.'" ~Isaiah 2:1-3
"But it shall come about in the last days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established as the highest and chief of the mountains; it shall be above the hills, and people shall flow (like a river) to it. And many nations shall come and say, 'Come, let us go up...'" Micah 4:1-2
"Hear now what the Lord is saying, arise, plead your case before the mountains, let the hills (as witnesses) hear your voice. Hear, O mountains, the indictment of the Lord, and you enduring foundations of the earth..." ~Micah 6:1-2a
"Then they will begin to say to the mountains, 'Fall (alight) on us!' and to the hills, 'Cover us!'" ~Luke 23:30
"You are the light of (Christ to) the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden... Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and (recognize and honor) and glorify your Father who is in heaven." ~Matthew 5:14, 16
Lord God, You have made us a city on a hill with Your Light blazing in us and on us for the world to see and know where to run to to hide from Your wrath against sin. We are on a hill in the center of Your mountains of Father, Son and Holy Spirit! You surround us in Your love!
The time is coming, has always been coming, for sin to be abolished and Satan and his demonic forces to take their rightful place in the Lake of fire for all eternity. Because each day the time grows nearer, he and they become angrier and angrier, seeking vengeance on Your creation, especially seeking the ruin of Your children, because the enemy knows Your deep and incessant love for us.
Many are beginning to cry out to You to fall on them, but need to run to us, Your hill people, to cover them by teaching them Your word! We must be ready to assist them. Lord, flood Your nation of hill people with Your Holy Spirit! We NEED to be filled at all times so we are ready to speak, ready to heal, ready to comfort at every turn!
Many are afraid of this marvelous third Person of Your Trinity! Awaken within us all the desire to be courageous even as we fear and receive Your complete filling. Help us to stop making excuses for not being filled, because they are all lame. Excuses simply rob us of fully experiencing Your love.
Grant us a hunger for You that is gnawing and thirst that withers and can only be satisfied and quenched by Your filling and flowing. Help us remember that hill people shine and must not allow the oil of Your Spirit to run dry or our lamps will go dim and stop lighting the way for the nations. I am excited that You are taking what Satan meant for evil in Your city and turning it for our good by awakening us to the fact that our oil has been getting low!
We fall on our spiritual faces before You in worship and adoration, thanking You again and again for glorifying Your Son in us and through us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
