My Prayer

My church prayer team decided to commit to praying for the current pandemic and spiritual warfare manifesting in our world today. We believe that God is preparing the hearts of many people from every nation, all tribes, people and languages. He is raising up a Great Army for His Glory. This is a historic time, and we do not want to miss the opportunity to demonstrate the Power of Christ Jesus in and through His People. It is time for us all to be the Church. As we seek the Lord with all our heart, let us also stand together in expectation for His return, and bring as many along with us as we can.

As prayer warriors and intercessors, we have the unique opportunity right now to pray in the harvest. Some of us have also committed to fasting today. It is time to lift up our missionaries, our pastors, our teachers and administrators and every believer on the earth today for a quickening in the Holy Spirit to do the work the Father has set out for us to do.

We spent the morning worshiping together as a family and with our church family via the internet. It was a special time together, and the Spirit of the Lord was with use. I have decided to write down my prayers this afternoon to keep a record of what God has placed on my heart. I will seek to align my heart in one accord with the heart of the Father through the Holy Spirit:

1:43 PM

Holy Spirit, give me your words and may the will of the Father be manifested through my prayers.

Father, there are many people who suffer now. Many are scared and without hope. Many have fallen into the darkness, and they do not see the light. Many have lost their mother, father, their sister, brother, their aunt, uncle, their grandmother or grandfather, their cousin and yes, even a child to this pandemic. Some have lost more than one family member, and their suffering runs deep. They are unable to say goodbye, and they cannot even grieve their loss as one should be able. Our hearts break for those who have lost their way. May we show them the way in you, Lord. Give us your strength and your compassion.

People are left in grief, without hope and comfort, and we are seeking more now than ever before. As a world, we enter into this time together, but our hearts are divided. As a country, we enter this time divided and broken. Many, even now, seek to divide us all and have used this pandemic for political gain. Many have turned back to alcoholism, drug abuse, pornography and loneliness during these dark times. Some have forsaken the faith and have chosen fear over love. Father, the world seems a dark place right now, and for many, their lives are falling apart. Many have lost their jobs and have lost the financial security they once had, and our hearts break; the suffering is real.

We praise you, because you are raising us up, Lord. You have formed within us a firm foundation. Our hope is planted firmly upon the Chief Cornerstone. Amen.

2:25 PM

Father, God. Thank you for always hearing my prayer. You listen with ears dedicated to my cry. You hear me, and you answer. When I seek you, you make yourself known to me, Lord. I praise you for your goodness and for your faithfulness. Your hand is always upon me, and your wing covers over me and gives me peace.

I lift up to you the small business owners who have to close their doors right now. Many of them have to dismiss their employees for a time and have to make such difficult decisions. Give them peace. Give them strength. And for their employees, help them to realize that you are in control. Send them help, Lord, and may they know your provision in all things. Amen.

2:58 PM

Father, God. Right now many of us are concerned about the coming days when we may be completely restricted to our homes, unable to leave for food and other needed items. I pray that you give us wisdom to know how to handle this. Help us to not panic, and to trust you. Give us strength, Lord. Help us to trust you. Amen

3:08 PM

I'm hungry, Lord. My body grows weaker by the moment, but my spirit grows stronger in you. We cry out to you, because you are our only salvation. The whole world cries out for your deliverance. Lord, we proclaim victory for the captives. We see you stretch out your right hand to set them free. We call upon your mighty angels to fight for them, Lord, and fight for us also, that all might know you and proclaim you as Lord and Savior over all!

You are doing a new thing, Lord Jesus. The whole earth is full of your glory! We worship you, Almighty God, for you have spoken over us and have proclaimed victory in Jesus' precious name. Father, make us a beacon of hope for the nations. May we rise up in your name and be the hope this world is so desperately seeking. You proclaim, "Rise up! Rise up, all you nations, and find rest for your souls! Take up my salvation and I will set you free!" May the Holy Spirit of revival strike our hearts on fire and set our lands ablaze! May those who seek you with all their heart find you, Lord! Amen.

3:57 PM

Well, Lord. I'm not a very good "faster". I feel so weak and have almost fallen asleep twice. I'm already sick of water and beef broth, but I know you are with me. Help me to press back the flesh as you reveal yourself in the spirit. I love you, Lord.

As we gather together in spirit, Lord, I pray you will unite our prayer as one. I pray for those who are suffering today and for those who have lost their hope. I pray that you might use your church to help lift many out of darkness. Help keep us strong and courageous and to remember that you are God. Amen.

4:43 PM

I'm taking some time to spend with the kids, Lord. It's been a good day of worship, celebration, doing church online and loving on my family. I've also had times with you beyond what is written here. I'll finish up the day in the spirit, worshiping you. I love you, Lord. Goodnight.
