I had this hallelujah moment today, as this scripture struck my heart as it had never before! His words brought about unspeakable joy to my soul, making me want to laugh as a child laughs, and I cannot explain this; it makes no human sense. This is Jesus sharing something so profound and so powerful with us, wrapping up the most needed sermon in the history of men with a practical bow... I was then struck with grief at the thought of many of my loved ones who have allowed the sand to creep under their foundations.
Brothers and sisters, why do we call Jesus Christ "Lord, Lord" and yet we do not do what he says? Does doing what he says mean you will never mess up? Of course not, but it does place you in a continuous state of foundational upkeep. The Father is preparing the Bride to be united to the Bridegroom, and the time of his coming is near! Wake up, my brothers and sisters! We all too often build our foundation on the sand, which is all this world has to offer us: human economy, false security, a vision of wealth, the next great leader, the current leader, the many things that blind us from the TRUTH, dissolving our time and efforts right in front of our faces... but this ROCK is what we need. It’s WHO we need! Jehovah Jireh! The LORD provides us what we need.
Wake up, loved ones, and do what he says! It really is quite simple when you submit to him completely. This place, this shelter, security, provision and perfect economy he offers us is more powerful, more loving, more fulfilling, more exciting, more everything than anything this world of fading things has to offer us. He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Ruler of all. It's either all or none, folks. If you allow the sand to settle under even a single corner of your house, you are in danger of the whole house falling out beneath you when the storm comes and the winds blow.
Do not conform to the things of this world! His thoughts are much higher; his ways are much greater. To ignore the sand slowly settling beneath us is to condone the sin that creeps just beyond our sight. To turn your head from the evil deeds the sand has so proudly constructed; to exalt, condone and rejoice with the sand as it masks itself as the rock… this is to mock and reject the ROCK, which is also to build your house upon destruction... which is complete, complete destruction; there is no turning back.
Reject the sand, even if it appears to be as solid as the ROCK, turn from a depraved way of thinking, and turn back to the ROCK, my brothers and sisters; wisdom is not found in the accord of many, but is breathed from the lips of the Father. As Christ has spoken, if you have ears to hear, listen to what the Spirit of God has to share with you.
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” ~Luke 6:46-49 (NIV)
