Joy to the World!

“Magnificat anima mea Dominum, et exultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo!”

“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit exults in the God of my salvation!"

~ Mary, the Virgin Mother of Jesus

Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the expanse of the deep. The Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. By the power of His WORD, His LIGHT burst forth at Moriah, penetrating the darkness as far as the east is from the west. In His LIGHT, there was LOVE. In His LOVE, there was LIFE. And in His LIFE, great JOY is born for all generations.

“Let us make man in our image.” In the IMAGO DEI, He created him. Male and female, He created them. They communed with one another as one flesh in the garden of God, and His JOY was proclaimed: “It is very good.”

Through one man, sin entered the world. His JOY were separated by darkness, and they communed with on another no more. Sin brought forth death and separation into the world. The darkness felt victorious, but His JOY remained faithful and true. A great sign appeared in heaven: “A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth.”

Through the woman, came JOY in the flesh. The darkness despised the JOY this woman bore, because the government is on His shoulders, and His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Through the JOY the woman bore, all wars waged against man had been crushed beneath His feet.

All things spiritual exist outside of time and space. A thousand years on earth is as a single day in heaven. When the Morning Star was created, he was also in the garden of God. He was anointed as a beautiful guardian cherub who was full of wisdom and splendor. This Morning Star became proud in his heart. He considered himself as being equal to God. The Morning Star corrupted his own wisdom for the sake of his splendor. A great rebellion stirred in his heart. War broke out in heaven. The Morning Star was stripped of his position and power, and Darkness became his name.

Michael and his angels fought against the Darkness. The Darkness could not prevail, and he lost his place in heaven, being hurled to the earth along with his angels. God proclaimed eternal condemnation and death upon their immortal souls. Then the Darkness was filled with fury, because he knew his time on the earth was short. Full of rage at his inevitable demise, the Darkness set out to wage war on the chosen Children of God.

Through Adam, the image of God, came Seth. Through Seth, came Noah. Through Noah, came Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Through Jacob, came Judah. Through Judah, came David. Through King David, came Solomon. Through King Solomon, came Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus, who is called the Messiah, the Son of God.

Around 2000 years after Adam, God provided Abraham with a sacrificial lamb at Moriah, and by his faith in God, the life of his only son, Isaac, was saved. Another 2000 years following Abraham, God provided the final and perfect sacrificial Lamb at Moriah, which brought salvation to all who place their faith in Him. He is Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Through the one man, came darkness and eternal separation from JOY. Through one man, Jesus, eternal life and the JOY of resurrection power was poured out for all generations. We are reminded that no matter the plans the enemy has waged against us, God will always provide salvation for those who, by faith, love Him and keep His commands.

It is written:

“Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great JOY which will be to all the people. For there is born to you today, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

“Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. They overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. They did not love their life, even to death. Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”

As we celebrate the first coming of our Christ this Christmas Season, and we look forward to the return of our JOY, could it be that now, 2000 years after Jesus ascended into heaven, we too might see the coming of our JOY on the clouds? Now, that is something to rejoice about this Christmas Season! JOY to the world, the Lord is come! Hallelujah!

A lamp to guide my feet

The LORD woke me early in the morning to meditate on his Word and to impart a revelation upon my soul. I could not help but leap out of bed and write down all he revealed to me. As I woke, the Holy Spirit gave utterance of praise in my spirit until he pushed me out of bed. Hallelujah!

This truth was given to me by the Holy Spirit: “I have hidden my Word in your heart, that you might not sin against me” and “my Word is a lamp to guide your feet and a light for your path” (Psalm 119). In other words, it struck me that while I am personally responsible for ingesting the Word, the Holy Spirit is the one who carefully and strategically hides it away in my heart that I might wield it as the Sword of the Spirit against the enemy and against fallen flesh. By his Word, the Holy Spirit has offered us all a lamp to guide us and a light for our path.

No Other Name, but the Name of Jesus!

We are a wicked people! We are an abhorrent generation! Our hearts are full of pure evil. Thick darkness consumes our every thought. There is nothing we can offer you, oh God! Our gifts are mere trash to be burned in the unholy place. There is nothing we can do that might deserve your salvation from the coming judgement!

How great is our sin, oh LORD! How long will you abstain from your anger? How long will you push back the coming wrath? There is nothing good within us! No one is worthy to receive your grace or stand outside the door of your holy sanctuary!
